2024 Top NCAA Football Teams To Buy

Updated: Aug 16

*In parenthesis is the team's 2023 record

1. Virginia (3-9)- The Cavaliers lost 5 games by 7 points or less last year.  With plenty of experience returning on both sides of the ball this team has the potential to reach a bowl in HC Tony Elliott’s third season.

OVER/UNDER TOTAL WINS 4.5

2. Indiana (3-9)- In 13 seasons as a HC at the DII, FCS, and FBS level, Curt Cignetti has never posted a losing season and carries an impressive 119-35 career record. With so many high caliber transfers following him to Bloomington going from 3-9 to bowl eligibility and beyond is not out of the realm of possibility

OVER/UNDER TOTAL WINS 5.5

3. Wake Forest (4-8)- HC Dave Clawson had taken the Demon Deacons to 7 straight bowls before last year’s disappointing 4-8 season.  Clawson has only posted consecutive losing records 3 times in 24 seasons as a HC and never after being at a school for over 3 years.  Expect a rebound in 2024.

OVER/UNDER TOTAL WINS 4.5

4. Minnesota (6-7)- HC PJ Fleck has yet to experience back-to-back losing seasons in 11 years at Western Michigan and Minnesota.  Max Brosmer was a solid addition at QB and will steer the Gophers in the right direction following last year’s disappointing 6-7 finish.

OVER/UNDER TOTAL WINS 5.5

5. TCU (5-7)- As long as Sonny Dykes is the HC the offense won’t be an issue.  If new defensive coordinator Andy Avalos, who had successful stints at both Boise State and Oregon, can tighten the screws on a defense the Horned Frogs could be a surprise Big 12 title contender in 2024.

OVER/UNDER TOTAL WINS 7.5

6. Navy (5-7)- The addition of Drew Cronic to run the Wing T offense should help reignite the rushing attack which fell to 17th nationally while running the triple option.  Any kind of improvement to compliment an already stout defense should put the Midshipmen back into the postseason.

OVER/UNDER TOTAL WINS 5.5

7. Buffalo (3-9)- There are plenty of winnable games on the schedule and if new HC Pete Lembo can find a viable option at QB in CJ Ogbonna or elsewhere the Bulls could make a surprise push for bowl eligibility.

OVER/UNDER TOTAL WINS 4.5

8. Illinois (5-7)- The Illini drew a favorable non-conference schedule with 3 winnable games in Champaign to start the season.  Expect QB Luke Altmyer to show progression in year 2 and if the defense can even somewhat regain its' 2022 form this team will be back in a bowl in 2024.

OVER/UNDER TOTAL WINS 5.5
