1. Notre Dame (10-3)

Good News- 5 starters are back from last year’s top 10 defense and senior transfer Riley Leonard (Duke) was a quality addition at QB

Bad News- the offensive line lacks experience with just 1 starter back and senior TE Mitchell, the team’s second leading pass catcher in 2023 is recovering from a torn ACL

OVER/UNDER TOTAL WINS 10.5

2. Washington St. (5-7)

Good News- the Cougars' defense gets back leading tackler (87) in senior LB Kyle Thornton and sophomore QB John Mateer, the projected starter, is a threat with both his legs and arm

Bad News- Thornton will be surrounded by lots of new faces on defense

OVER/UNDER TOTAL WINS 7.5

3. Oregon State (8-5)

Good News- with the Pac-12 dissolving, the Beavers will benefit from a much more manageable schedule

Bad News- first year HC Trent Bray, formerly the defensive coordinator (2022-23), faces massive roster turnover on both sides of the ball

OVER/UNDER TOTAL WINS 7.5

4. UConn (3-9)

Good News- the Huskies drew a much more favorable schedule this time around and the defense should improve with key contributors back at every position

Bad News- the QB position is unsettled following the transfer of Ta’Quan Roberson

OVER/UNDER TOTAL WINS 4.5

5. Massachusetts (3-9)

Good News- senior QB Taisun Phommachanh, a former 4-star recruit, is back to lead the Minutemen offense in its final season before re-entering the MAC in 2025

Bad News- after a successful first stint in Amherst from 2004-2008 HC Don Brown carries just a 4-20 record so far in his second go-around
